Founding thoughts

How can we reach people who struggle to visit a dentist?

As a child, I was afraid of the dentist. Meeting a dentist who understood that feeling was the starting point for my wish to become one myself.

As a dentist working in dental anaesthesia, I cared for patients with anxiety. One important question remained: we could support people who reached the clinic, but how could we reach those who could not get there?

I have also explored this question through public health and epidemiological research. Dental anxiety is not only an issue during treatment: it may relate to people's health from the stage when they hesitate to seek care.

I did not want what we learned through research to remain only in papers. Yet repeating 'You should visit a dentist' does not reach everyone. Could there be a more enjoyable, manageable way to encounter oral health in everyday life? That question led me to begin DentalGO.

It is still in development. With science at its heart, I want to create experiences that help everyone find their own way to care for their oral health, at their own pace.
